This was inspired by a painting I made for a recently widowed friend, based on the final photograph of her husband walking along his favourite beach in Scotland. I was struck by the sense of isolation in the image and I wanted to contrast that in this second version by presenting a parent and daughter in a moment of peace, intimacy and privacy.
